From the Desk of the Director
At Insight Construction, we believe that great buildings are only possible when great people lead the charge. As we scale, it’s become more evident than ever that our real strength lies not in equipment or techniques — but in our people.
Spotlight: Growing from Within
This month, we’d like to celebrate the story of Nigel, one of our young supervisors who has shown exceptional promise. From a bricklayer to supervisor to junior foreman, and now stepping into the role of Foreman, Nigel embodies our value of Ambidexterity — the ability to stretch and grow while staying grounded in the fundamentals.
“What drives me,” Nigel says, “is as the company is growing, my ambition is to simply get the job done!”
Culture in Action: Right People, Right Seats
We’ve recently undertaken a deep dive into how we structure our teams using the EOS™ (Entrepreneurial Operating System). This helps us ensure everyone is aligned with our values and operating in roles they “get, want, and have the capacity” to own.
We’re proud to see improvement in areas like:
- Accountability and ownership among our site leads
- Teamwork across multi-site projects
- Passion and focus from junior talent ready to rise
Investing in Leadership
Leadership doesn’t start with titles — it starts with responsibility. We’ve introduced:
- Monthly site staff roundtables
- One-on-one engagement sessions with senior management
- Mentorship and skill-sharing from experienced professionals outside the business
The impact? Quicker decisions, better team morale and more proactive problem-solving on the ground.

Looking Ahead
Next month, we’ll lift the curtain on the numbers — how we’re growing our revenue base, trading out of debt, and managing to stay cash-smart while still building world-class projects.
Until then, we’ll keep doing what we do best: building great people, who build a great company, that builds great buildings.
Warm regards,
Eugene Schieman
